It all started with a trip around the world. It was 2002, I was living in England, 27 years old, had a good job as an engineer at one of the largest telecommunications companies in the UK, and had no family or emotional ties holding me back. With no certainty at all, I had the feeling that something was missing—but I wasn’t going to sit still. I packed my gear and set out to find it… until I did. 

 

 

During the nearly 20 months of my journey, I visited towns with cultures so different from what I had considered “normal,” I learned to appreciate things as “simple” as drinking water magically coming out of our taps, I met people from all walks of life (one of whom became my wife years later), and I experienced adventures firsthand that I had only read about or seen on TV before.

 

 

When I returned to my hometown of Zaragoza, I realized something had changed—probably me—but things were different from how I had left them. I realized I wanted to keep that constant feeling of discovering something new. I couldn’t let the incredible opportunity to work on something I truly loved pass me by, sharing it with fellow mountain enthusiasts, family, and friends. I wanted to live an adventure every single day of my life. And a regular office job wasn’t going to give me that. Together with my brothers, OS2O was born.

 

From very humble beginnings to today—still modest, but now with three stores in Spain, production in various parts of Spain and Asia, and an increasingly professional work structure—we’ve experienced countless joys and some disappointments, but I can confidently say I’m enjoying every moment. The satisfaction of our customers, the new friends OS2O has brought us, the creativity involved in designing a new product, and recognition from everyone from amateur athletes to top professional climbers are just a few of the daily rewards that OS2O gives to everyone involved in building it.

 

I still believe the outdoor apparel world holds enormous opportunities at every stage—from manufacturing that uses the most specialized and environmentally respectful resources in a globalized world, to design that takes personalized tastes and requirements into account, to distribution that brings production closer to the customer by cutting out the many middlemen who inflate prices, to sales environments—both physical and online—tailored to each consumer, and products that are durable, fairly priced, and exceed user expectations. That’s our mission, and I can assure you that all the effort from the OS2O team is focused in that direction.
